The St. Louis Blues head into this weekend’s break on a high note after a 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night.

The Blues scored twice on the power play, getting tallies from Paul Stastny and Brayden Schenn, and then got the insurance goal from Alexander Steen with 1:20 to play to seal their second win in a row and fourth in five games.

Carter Hutton stopped 36 of 37 shots he faced to record his fourth win in five games.

The Blues remain two points behind Nashville for second in the Central Division.
