The Police Chief in western Missouri’s Drexel was arrested by Cass County Deputies after an incident yesterday.  Officers were called to a home in reference to a disturbance where a gun was pointed at a subject at around two a.m.

An alleged victim, Michael P. LaGatta Jr., told police an intoxicated person started a verbal argument with him, then pulled a gun and pointed it at his face.

The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Jonathan R.G. Carpenter, currently the Chief of Police for the city of Drexel.  Chief Carpenter was charged with Unlawful Use of Weapon While Intoxicated and Resisting or Interfering with Arrest.  His bond was set at $7,500.

The Kansas City Star reported that a spokesperson said Carpenter was not on duty when the incident occurred.
