Amazon to Missouri proposals: Thanks, but no thanks.

Amazon has released today its finalists list for its future North America headquarters. Kansas City, St. Louis, and Missouri all submitted proposals but are not among the final candidates for the site that the retail giant says is expected to create 50,000 jobs and a five-billion dollar investment.

State officials have touted Missouri’s proposal as innovative, bold, and practical. Missouri’s pitch included an innovation corridor that links St. Louis, Columbia and Kansas City and a high-speed tube-like transportation network. The futuristic mode of transportation, like Hyperloop, would get people from Kansas City to St. Louis in 31 minutes.

The cities remaining on Amazon’s list include Toronto, Dallas, Nashville, Denver, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., and Boston.
