On the same day she was announced as one of the final 25 for the John R. Wooden Award, junior Sophie Cunningham struggled, scoring just five points on 2-of-7 shooting and turning the ball over three times in a game high 33 minutes of action.  However, sophomore guards Jordan Chavis and Amber Smith scored 18 points each leading 12th ranked Mizzou to an 81-70 win at Vanderbilt on Thursday night.

Smith scored 12 of her 18 points in the first quarter as the Tigers built a 39-22 halftime lead and led by as many as 20.  Mizzou never let Vandy get closer than 11 in winning its 14th game in the last 15 tries.

Smith has three straight 18+-point games for the first time in her career. Chavis scored a career-high 18 points behind a career-best six three-pointers.

Mizzou returns to play next Thursday at Ole Miss.
