Mizzou shot 57% in the second half as four Tigers finished in double figures turning a three-point halftime deficit into a 68-56 win over Georgia on Wednesday at Mizzou Arena.
Jontay Porter scored a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kassius Robertson scored 15 and Jeremiah Tilmon and Jordan Geist each scored 10.
Tilmon stayed out of foul trouble finishing with two. In fact, Cuonzo Martin’s vented frustrations about officiating may have been heard by the SEC. The Tigers were whistled just ten times the entire game.
After scoring just 20 points in the first half thanks to 1-9 shooting on three’s, Mizzou found themselves down only there at the break.
The Tigers opened up a 38-27 lead with an 18-4 run to start the first six-and-a-half minutes of the second half
Georgia cut the lead to two on Rayshaun Hammonds’ three-pointer, but the Tigers went on a 7-0 run with six minutes left. Missouri improves to 12-4, 2-1 Southeastern Conference.
