Kansas City International Airport is launching its first regularly scheduled nonstop transatlantic flight. Beginning in May, Icelandair will offer a seasonal nonstop flight from KCI to Iceland’s capitol three times a week through the end of September. More than 25 popular connections in Scandinavia, the U.K., and Continental Europe will be offered.

“Icelandair has made an excellent choice in connecting Kansas City to their growing network,” says Kansas City Director of Aviation Pat Klein. “In addition to nonstop access to one of the fastest growing tourism destinations, passengers will also appreciate the ease of transiting through Iceland on their way to Europe.”

Service from Kansas City will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays on 183-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft. Return flights to Kansas City will be operated on Tuesdays, Fridays and Mondays.

A roundtrip ticket sale is underway at Icelandair.us or by calling 800-223-5500.

Last year, St. Louis Lambert International Airport announced that WOW Air would also be offering direct flights to Iceland.
