The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says Sunday’s forecast is calling for a light wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow in south and mid-Missouri.

MoDOT is urging you to be prepared for the possibility of slick roads on Sunday.

The agency says rain is also expected in some areas and could cause icy conditions because pavement temperatures remain very low, following weeks of bitter cold weather.

MoDOT says crews will monitor road conditions and will treat and plow bridges and overpasses as needed.

MoDOT reminds drivers that ice can be deceptive because it’s hard to see on the road.

The agency also reminds you that they have a toll-free phone number you can call 24-7 for road information.

That number is 1-888-ASK-MODOT. The agency has live operators on duty at all times to assist you with information.
