Porter Jr on if he’ll play this year for #Mizzou “It’s too early to tell”

Michael Porter Jr

Rehab is going well and he continues to heal.  As far as whether or not Michael Porter Jr suits up for another game this season for the Missouri Tigers?  He couldn’t give a clear answer.

“It’s too early to tell,” said Porter Jr at Mizzou basketball media day on Tuesday afternoon in Columbia.

The Tigers are preparing for the SEC opener tomorrow night at South Carolina and we didn’t learn more than what we already knew regarding the timetable for Porter Jr.’s rehab.  3-4 months is still the timeline, but it remains unclear if that is enough time to get in game shape for game in mid to late March should the Tigers still be playing.

Porter Jr. originally got injured during a summer practice two years ago with his AAU team when he landed on his back after dunking a basketball.  Michael says he expected to play through the pain, but it got worse and it wouldn’t be beneficial to him or the team.

“It’s a good thing I did (go through with the surgery).  I feel a lot better,” said Porter.
