The Missouri Tigers will facing a shorthanded Texas Longhorns team on Wednesday in the Texas Bowl after Longhorns head coach Tom Herman suspended three players.
Texas freshman running back Toneil Carter, junior tight end Garrett Gray and sophomore receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey have been suspended from the game for a violation of team rules.
Carter is the team’s fourth-leading rusher with 263 yards and three touchdowns. Humphrey is the team’s second-leading receiver with 37 catches for 431 yards and a touchdown.
In addition to the three suspensions, The Longhorns will be without junior defensive tackle Chris Nelson who suffered an elbow injury during practice and three others who are skipping the game. Offensive tackle Connor Williams, safety DeShon Elliott and cornerback Holton Hill have declared for early entry into the 2018 NFL draft and will not participate in the bowl game.
