Mizzou Women’s Basketball improves to 6-1 after jumping out to a 19-point lead in their 73-59 win over Kansas State in the 2017 Big 12/SEC Challenge on Thursday night at Mizzou Arena.

The win is the Tigers’ sixth in a row and 48th in a row at home against non-conference opponents.

Sophomore guard Amber Smith finished with a career-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including a career-best 5-for-8 effort from 3-point range. Junior forward Cierra Porter added in a season-high 16 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Redshirt junior Lauren Aldridge added 11 points and five assists, draining a trio of 3-pointers.

The Tigers return to action at Mizzou Arena on Saturday against the New Orleans Privateers. The game is set to tip at 2 p.m.
