President Trump addresses a private audience in Springfield, Missouri on August 30

Southeast Missouri Republican Congressman Jason Smith’s office confirms that President Donald Trump is visiting Missouri on Wednesday to discuss taxes. The president will make a stop at the St. Charles Convention Center on Wednesday afternoon.

This is the president’s second visit to the Show-Me state since August to discuss tax reform. Senator Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, has been on several national talk shows in recent weeks touting the GOP tax legislation that he says will increase take home pay for workers.

Senator Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri, opposes the plan and calls it a scam that benefits the wealthy and hurts the middle class and poor. During his August visit to Springfield, Trump took aim at McCaskill, who faces a key re-election race in 2018. He said McCaskill should support the GOP tax plan or Missourians should vote her out of office next year.

Missourinet will cover Trump’s visit on Wednesday.
