Royals left fielder Alex Gordon and first baseman Eric Hosmer each won Gold Gloves for their positions in the American League.  Gordon won his fifth Gold Glove Award, coming back after consecutive years from 2011-14. Gordon beat out Brett Gardner of the Yankees and Justin Upton of the Angels. Hosmer won his fourth AL Gold Glove Award, adding on from 2013-15. Hosmer beat out Carlos Santana of the Indians and Mitch Moreland of the Red Sox.

Perez had won four straight AL Gold Glove Awards from 2013-16 before being beat out this season by the Angels’ Martin Maldonado.  Cain, who led AL center fielders in starts (151), total chances (443) and putouts (430), lost to Minnesota’s Byron Buxton.

Molina, an eight-time winner of the award, lost last year to Buster Posey of the Giants.  This season, both veteran catchers lost to Tucker Barnhart of the Reds.
