Top-ranked Central Missouri defeated #2 seed Missouri Western 4-1 in the championship game of the MIAA Women’s Soccer Tournament on Sunday in Warrensburg, Mo.  The Jennies have now won four straight MIAA Tournament titles and remain undefeated on the season at 21-0.  With the win, the Jennies received the automatic bid to the NCAA Division II national tournament.

Missouri Western (17-4) became just the third team to score on the Jennies this season and advanced farther in the MIAA tournament than any other team in program history and are poised for their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championship.

The Jennies and Griffons will now wait to see where they will be ranked in the Central Region for the 2017 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship.  The Jennies were ranked #1 in all three sets of the NCAA regional rankings and the Griffons were ranked #3 in last week’s poll.

The selection show will reveal who qualifies for the NCAA Tournament this Monday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m. central time.
