Mizzou Women’s Basketball defeated Southwest Baptist, 77-55, in an exhibition matchup Thursday night at Mizzou Arena.

Mizzou shot 50 percent from the field and 12 different Tigers scored. The Tigers got a nice performance out of redshirt senior forward Jordan Frericks, who comes back for her final year after missing 2016-17 with a season-ending knee injury. She led all scorers with 13 points on six-of-eight shooting from the field.

“I’m just so excited to be able to play with those girls. I just think they’re great to be with and we have great chemistry,” said Frericks who also grabbed six rebounds.  “Just being able to work together and have two big people on the court gives us a good inside presence.”

Mizzou continues exhibition play Monday vs. McKendree at Mizzou Arena. It’s the final tuneup before the Tigers travel to Iowa for the Hawkeye Challenge to face Western Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 10.

“This is a group that’s really hungry,” said coach Robin Pingeton. “They don’t mind working hard and they’re fun to coach. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season. This was good to lace them up and play against somebody else.”
