Kevin Shattenkirk, Ryan Reaves and Brad Hunt scored for St. Louis and had a 3-0 lead on the road less than two minutes into the second period.  The Predators scored two goals in the second and four more in the third to cap of a 6-3 final.  The Blues lost their third game on this four game road trip.  A 2-1 win by Chicago over the Rangers, puts the Blues six points behind the Blackhawks and in a tie for second place in the Central Division with the Wild.  Minnesota also has two games in hand.

Shattenkirk scored the first goal at 10:12 of the opening period after the Blues killed of two early penalties. His wrist shot deflected off defenseman Roman Josi past Pekka Rinne.  Reaves scored his second in three games and made it 2-0 at 16:41 of the first when he took a no look pass from Kyle Broadziak beating Rinne with a wrist shot high to the glove side.  Hunt’s first of the season made it 3-0 at 1:49 of the second.

The Predators cut St. Louis’ lead to 3-2 with goals 2:15 apart in the second before their outburst in the third.

“We had a 3-2 lead going into the third period,” Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said. “It’s been three games like this that we lost on the road where we’ve had the game taken from us in the third period.”
