A man accused of shooting and killing another man has escaped from custody in south-central Missouri. The Houston Herald reports that Daniel Campbell escaped from the Texas County Jail Monday evening after leaving the back of the facility.

Officials with the Texas County Sheriff’s Department gave no comment to Ozark Radio News Monday night.

Campbell is accused of shooting two men in October at a location near the southern Missouri town of Licking. One victim, 38-year-old Billy Bishop II, died at the scene, while the second victim, 55-year-old William Dumboski, was flown from the scene for treatment with serious injuries.

Residents in the Houston area are urged to keep their doors locked and remove keys and valuables from their cars. If you see Campbell, call 911 or the Texas County Sheriff’s Office at 417-967-4165.
