All Missourians can have their say on what our new license plates should look like when Missouri celebrates 200 years of statehood. The new plates will be out in time for the Show-Me State’s bicentennial in 2021.
On July 1, 2016, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon signed House Bill 2380, authorizing the bicentennial plate. The legislation was sponsored by Glen Kolkmeyer, Missouri state representative from the 53rd District. Dave Schatz, senator from the 26th District, helped ensure the effort progressed on the senate floor.
The plate will be issued to Missouri drivers starting in January 1, 2019.
