Missouri voters will see at least one judicial retention election on the November ballot. Voters will decide if Missouri Supreme Court Justice Richard Teitelman should be retained, along with judges in other counties. Justice Teitelman was appointed to the Missouri Supreme Court in 2002 and was retained in 2004 for a 12-year term, which expires on December 31.

Meantime, the Missouri Judicial Performance Review Committee has examined the work of the 49 judges who are involved in November retention elections. That committee is comprised of non-lawyers, lawyers and retired judges. Committee chairman Dale Doerhoff and officers of the Missouri Bar will brief reporters Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in Jefferson City, about the committee’s findings. They’ll discuss how the reviews were conducted, why the review process was adopted and how the information is available to the public before November.
