Marcus Peters had two interceptions for the Chiefs and Eric Berry Derrick Johnson, Daniel Sorenson and D.J. White pulled in picks as well as the Chiefs created a total of eight turnovers in a 24-3 win over the New York Jets, at Arrowhead Stadium.

The eight turnovers for New York were the most since setting a franchise record with ten in a loss to the New England back on Nov. 21, 1976.

“Everybody had a great practice. The emphasis was on finishing plays and not being too concerned with the score,” said Berry.

The Chiefs also held running back Matt Forte to just 65 rushing yards.  Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was the AFC’s reigning Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 374 yards last week against the Buffalo Bills, and the Chiefs defense held to him to just 20 of 44 for 188 yards with the six interceptions.

Through the first 19 games of his regular season career, Peters has 12 interceptions,

Alex Smith was 25 of 33 for 237 yards and a touchdown for Kansas City, while Spencer Ware added 75 yards rushing as the Chiefs improved to 2-1.

Midway through the second quarter, tight end Demetrius Harris returned a fumbled kickoff by Jets returner Jalin Marshall 27 yards for the touchdown, which extended the Chiefs lead to 17-0.
