Body discovered in northeast Missouri in 1990 has been identified

A woman whose body was discovered 26 years ago in northeast Missouri’s Pike County has been identified as Cynthia L. Day of Illinois. Television station KHQA reports the body was just recently positively identified.

Missouri_Highway_PatrolThe Missouri State Highway Patrol says hikers discovered the body in a secluded area of Pike County in August 1990. The Highway Patrol and the Pike County Sheriff’s Department conducted a joint homicide investigation. The Highway Patrol says the investigation continues by the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) and the Pike County Sheriff’s office.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Highway Patrol at (636) 300-2800 or the Pike County Sheriff’s office at (573) 342-3202.
