Adam Wainwright allowed four runs and drove in a career high four runs to help lead the Cardinals past the Colorado Rockies, 10-5 on Tuesday night.

The win along with the Giants win over  L.A. and the Mets loss to Atlanta moves all three teams into a tie for the NL Wild Card.

So what happens in the event of a tie at the end of the season between all three teams?

Based on head-to-head matchups during the season, the Cardinals and Mets would play Oct 4th in St. Louis.

The winner gets the top spot, the loser plays at San Francisco on the 5th and hosts the Giants. The winner of that game plays the top wild card team in the one game playoff on the 6th to determine who will play the Cubs in the NLDS starting on the 7th.
