The Missouri House Appropriations Committee on Public Safety and Corrections will hold a hearing Monday about a neighborhood watch fund and other key topics. The committee will also hear testimony about the state Department of Corrections’ healthcare contract.

Providing health care for prisoners is required under state law. All 21 Missouri prisons have medical units staffed with doctors and nurses who provide 24-hour care.

Committee members will also hear testimony Monday about electronic monitoring and a neighborhood watch fund.

Veteran State Rep. Kathie Conway (R-St. Charles) chairs the Committee. The Vice Chair is State Rep. Kenneth Wilson (R-Smithville).

Monday’s hearing begins at 1:30 p.m.
