Safety Eric Berry is back with the Chiefs. He will practice Monday after reporting to training camp on Sunday to sign his one-year franchise tender. Berry has sat out all of training camp after he and the team couldn’t agree on a long-term deal before the July 15th deadline.

Berry will get $10.8 million this season.  Under collective bargaining rules, because Berry wasn’t signed long term, he was not fined for not attending training camp.

As much focus as there is on player safety, the fact that a player who is one season removed from cancer can just show up and jump right into practice and play which proves four weeks of preseason football means absolutely nothing to these players.

Does the NFL really need four games to help determine 10-15 roster spots?  This could all be knocked out in two weeks.  Give up 18 regular season games!

The Chiefs did get a win on Saturday beating the Bears 23-7. Alex Smith completed 20-of-30 passes for 187 yards.

The Chiefs host the Packers this Thursday.

The Chiefs cut eight players from the roster including. The Chiefs now have 81 players on their roster. They have until 3 p.m. tomorrow to get down to 75.
