Alcides Escobar hit a solo home run and added the go-ahead RBI-double in the sixth for Kansas City as the Royals took the rubber game of this series with a 5-2 win over the Marlins in Miami.

“Esky had a great game,” Royals manager Ned Yost said. “Just had a great game. Defensively, offensively, the home run was big to give us a two-run lead at that point.”

Escobar is hitting .388 (19 for 49) with four doubles, a triple, and a home run in his last 13 games.

Edinson Volquez pitched five innings for his 10th win, Salvy Perez doubled in a run and Kelvin Herrera got the save.
