The Cubs hit five home runs and hammered the Cardinals, 13-2, at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon.  Adam Wainwright was done after two innings, giving up seven runs in his seventh loss of the year.

Wainwright gave up a three-run homer to Willson Contreras in the second, then Matt Szczur belted two homers, Jorge Soler, and Javier Baez added homers off reliever Jerome Williams who became the sacrificial lamb in the sixth and seventh innings to save the bullpen.

Jake Arrieta improved to 14-and-5. Kris Bryant added a pair of RBI-doubles as the Cubs rolled to their 11th straight win.

Stephen Piscotty and Jedd Gyorko homered for the Cardinals, who have lost three-of-four.
