Ventura, Salvy lead Royals past Twins

August 13, 2016 By Bill Pollock

Salvador Perez flared a go-ahead two-run single in the fifth inning as the Royals beat the Twins 7-3 in Minneapolis. Kendrys Morales added a solo home run for Kansas City.

Yordano Ventura tossed seven innings of three-run ball to pick up the win.  He was able to overcome home runs from Miguel Sano and Brian Dozier.

The Royals have won five of their past six games. Kyle Gibson gave up 10 hits and five earned runs to get tagged with the loss, their fourth in a row.
