Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer off Brian Flynn (1-1), and Carlos Santana drove in two runs off long reliever Dillon Gee, as the Royals five-game win streak over the Cleveland Indians at Kauffman Stadium ended in a 7-3 loss.  Meanwhile, the Royals have been unable to figure out Tribe starter Danny Salazar, who beat K.C. for the third time this season.

The Royals managed three runs off Salazar (11-3) over 6.2 innings, but he struck out seven.  In the Royals other two losses to Salazar, he held them scoreless in 7.2 innings in early May and they scored just one run over eight innings in a 6-1 loss in June.

The Royals scored two in the sixth and then another in the seventh to cut the deficit in half to 6-3.  Salvador Perez drove in a run and Kendrys Morales scored on a wild pitch.  Cheslor Cuthbert’s sac fly in the seventh scored the other run.  Cuthbert and Paulo Orlando each had two hits.

Orlando hasn’t hit under .300 since May 17th and has now hit safely in seven of his last eight games.
