A three run seventh inning by the Tigers doomed the Kansas Ciry Royals in a 4-2 loss in the first game after the All-Star break on Friday night in Detroit.
The Royals had a 2-1 advantage heading into the bottom half of the seventh as Salvador Perez drove in Eric Hosmer as part of a two run sixth.
Victor Martinez drove in two runs with a tiebreaking infield single in the seventh inning.
The Royals waste a quality start from Ian Kennedy who takes a no-decision after giving up just one run over five and a third.
