Baylor makes it official on their Twitter site. Mack Rhoades is their new A.D.

Missouri’s Athletic Director Mack Rhoades is leaving for the same position at Baylor University in Waco, TX. The site is also reportingĀ an announcement was expected at the end of Wednesday.

The news of Rhoades departure came moments before Head Coach Barry Odom and the players were scheduled to speak at SEC Media Days in Birmingham.

“Guys are presented different opportunities & have to make best decision for what’s best for them,” said Odom, commenting on the news. Ā “My singular focus is on making sure that our football team is ready to go in 52 days.”

Rhaodes released a statement Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m.

Rhoades would replace former athletic director Ian McCaw, who resigned in the midstĀ Baylor’s scandal and Title IX lawsuit regardingĀ the way the school handled sexual-assault cases involving its football players. Coach Art Briles lost his job and BaylorĀ president Ken Starr wasĀ reassignedĀ as chancellor and later resigned from that position. Ā Star remains a law school teacher.
