Local among the three leaders on his home course after opening round of MGA Stroke Play Championship

mgaMonday was the first day of the 2016 Stroke Play Championship at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau. The field consists of 120 players.

Currently tied for the lead is Cape native Brevin Giebbler, Mitch Mather, last year’s Missouri Amateur Champion, and Travis Mays of Kansas, with a 2 under score of 70. The highlight of the day came from Brevin who holed out on #9 for eagle.  Right behind today’s leaders is Chance Holden with a 1 under score of 71.

Tueday’s players who started on #10 will start on #1 and vice versa. Also, players who had morning tee times will be in the afternoon and afternoon tee times will be in the morning.

Pairings will remain the same and the cut is low 50 & ties.
