Two Missourian’s to represent U.S. in Hammer Throw (VIDEO)

A pair of hammer throwers from Missouri will represent Team USA at the Olympic Games in Rio.  Gwen Berry, from Florissant finished second with a throw of 239 feet, 9 inches and Deanna Price of Moscow Mills, Mo., finished third also with a throw of 239-9 at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR.

Both girls attended Southern Illinois.

Berry broke the American record in May, but had the result was thrown out after receiving a three-month ban for using a banned asthma medication.  Price is a two-time NCAA champion.

Central Missouri’s Heavin Warner finished fifth.
