Thanks to hockey fans in St. Louis and Missouri, Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko has been selected for the cover of the EA Sports’ NHL 17 video game, which will be released on Sept. 13 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The announcement was made Wednesday night during the 2016 NHL Awards in Las Vegas.
“It’s an incredible honor to represent my teammates and all the Blues fans around the world on the cover this year,” Tarasenko said. “As a player, it’s a big deal to be fan selected for something like the Cover Vote, and I’m excited to be involved in the game this year.”
More than six million votes were cast. Vlady beat out Tampa Bay’s Victor Hedman, Dallas’ Jamie Benn and San Jose’s Joe Pavelski.
Tarasenko led the Blues with 74 points last season, scoring 40 goals and 34 assists.
