When MSHSAA’s Board of Directors voted last week to keep the 8-man and Class 6 football championships at the same venue, it created a potential planning issue for Missouri State, which was awarded the Show-Me Bowl title games to be played at Plaster Field in 2016.  Faurot Field in Columbia will host the 2017 championships.

In addition to keeping the games together, the board also followed the recommendation of several 8-man and Class 6 coaches who wanted to see their bye-week disappear.  Starting in 2016, those two title games will now be played the Friday before Thanksgiving and Classes 1-5 will stay on the traditional Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving schedule.

With the recommendations, comes the need to open up venues for two separate weekends.  Jason West, Communications Director for MSHSAA, explains how this will all pan out in the coming weeks.
