Cheslor Cuthbert’s single in the 13th inning scored Lorenzo Cain giving the Royals a 2-1 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday. The Royals won six of seven on their homestand.
Salvador Perez led off with a single to right and Cain ran for Perez and advanced to second on Miguel Cabrera’s error after a pickoff attempt.
Chien-Ming Wang (4-0) picked up the victory for the Royals who improved to an American League best 25-8.
Chris Young allowed three hits while walking one and striking out seven in six innings. Detroit, finished with just five hits.
