Cameron and Chillicothe High Schools lose out on bid to host 8-man championship football games

The Missouri State High School Activities Association Board of Directors voted on Wednesday to keep the Class 6 and 8-man football championships at the same venue, eliminating proposals that were turned in by Cameron and Chillicothe High Schools to host the 8-man title game by itself.  The Board elected to keep the two games together and move the championships up a week to be played prior to Thanksgiving.

The Classes 1 thru 5 championships games will still take place the weekend after Thanksgiving.

The 2016 championships for Classes 1-5 will be played at Plaster Stadium on the campus of Missouri State.  The 2017 championships for those classes will be played at Faurot Field in Columbia.

Jason West, Communications Director for MSHSAA, tells me they are still working to confirm venue schedules and availability and hope to have that final decision by the end of the week for Class 6 and 8-man.
