Memorial Day celebrations continued Monday throughout the state.
Missourians traveled to Jefferson Barracks where Boy Scouts placed flags at all 280,000 graves. Ceremonies also took place at all the state’s Veterans Cemeteries, and thousands have turned out at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City and at a Memorial Day celebration Sunday at Union Station in Kansas City.
Memorial Day became a national holiday in 1971.
