The St. Louis Cardinals dropped the finale of their four game series in Washington to the Nationals Sunday by the final of 10-2. The Cards and Nats split the four game set.

Michael Wacha pitched better than his recent outings for St. Louis, going six innings giving up three earned runs but takes the loss. Stephen Strasburg won his 12th consecutive decision dating to last season, pitching six innings of one-run ball.

The Cardinals trailed just 3-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh where the Nats’ Jayson Werth connected for a pinch-hit grand slam to break the game open.

Brandon Moss hit his ninth homer of the season in the defeat.
