Mizzou baseball one and done at the SEC Tournament. Vandy beats Tigers’ ace

May 24, 2016 By Bill Pollock

It was a pitcher’s duel in the first game of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday morning until the bottom of the sixth inning between the Missouri Tigers and Vanderbilt Commodores.  Vandy scored four runs off Tigers’ ace Tanner Houck and added three more in the eighth for a 7-0 win in Hoover, Alabama.  Mizzou is 26-30 overall this season and now 0-14 against Vandy.

The Tigers were held to four hits by Vandy starter Patrick Raby who improved to 7-1 on the year.

Hauck had a three hit shutout going through five innings and had thrown just 56 pitches when he walked the leadoff hitter. A hit and run and double scored two runs and two more errors added to Hauck’s issues, who fell to 5-6 on the year.
