Mizzou Women’s Golf wrapped up its record-breaking season with a 12th-place finish in the NCAA Regional at Shoal Creek Country Club. The Tigers shot 310 (+22) in Saturday’s final round, led by a 74 (+2) from senior Michelle Butler (Dunedin, Fla.), who concluded her triumphant career with the program.
Junior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) carded a 76 (+4) while freshman Emma Allen (Southampton, England) shot 78 (+6). Both Meek and Allen tied for 29th individually at 15-over par for the tournament.
Freshmen Amanda Kim (O’Fallon, Mo.) and Marit Harryvan (Winschoten, Netherlands) both finished with scores of 82 (+10).
During the 2015-16 season, Mizzou shattered the record for lowest team stroke average (291.9) in program history by over eight shots per round. Butler set a program record for stroke average (72.59) while Allen recorded the second-best average (73.30) in team history.
The Tigers won two tournaments and placed in the top six in seven tournaments. Butler was named second-team All-SEC while Allen earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
