The Chicago Blackhawks scored three goals in a span of 12:06 over the second period to regain the lead. Two power play goals including one in the third and an empty netter helped seal a 6-3 Blues lost on Saturday night.
That forces a Game 7 Monday night at Scottrade Center, starting at 7:30 CT.
Once again the Blues rode out the storm of the first ten minutes in Chicago with an amp’d up crowed and a 1-0 deficit. It was almost 2-0, but Chicago’s Andrew Desjardins missed a tip-in at 6:07, and Scottie Upshall came back the other way to score 11 seconds later to make it 1-1. Then Alex Pietrangelo and Vladimir Tarasenko scored 2:09 apart to make it 3-1. It was Tarasenko’s 4th of the playoffs.
The Blues couldn’t handle the second storm from Chicago. They were relentless and scored three times in the second period to take a 4-3 lead at intermission.
