Salvador Perez hit a three-run homer and had a career-high five RBI as the Royals held on to beat the Detroit Tigers 8-6 on Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium

Perez hit a two-run double in the third and his three-run homer in the fifth gave Kansas City an 8-2 lead.  Both of his hits came with two outs.

The Tigers made it 8-5 in the seventh and had the bases loaded against Joakim Soria in the eighth. Kelvin Herrera got the final two outs of the inning, allowing a run to score.

Wade Davis picked up his sixth save.
