Missouri State’s Lily Johnson was selected to the U.S. Collegiate National Team Europe Tour roster. The reigning Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year is one of 12 players after National Team Open Tryouts last month. The U.S. team will play in mid-July in Italy and Croatia. Johnson is from Lafayette High School in Wildwood, Mo.

Johnson’s trip will take place July 6-16, with training matches against an Italian Federation Team July 7, July 8 and July 9 near Milan, Italy, before heading to Pula, Croatia, to play in the Global Challenge July 11-14.

The outside hitter became the first MSU sophomore to reach 1,000 career kills and concluded the season ranked 15th in Missouri State history with 1,115 career kills. Johnson had 20 or more kills in 17 matches, 23 kill-dig double-doubles, and completed a school-record streak of 36 consecutive matches with at least 10 kills. She ranked third nationally in kills and fourth in points in the final 2015 NCAA statistics.
