Missouri State captured its 10th Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship and earned a bid to its 14th NCAA Tournament Sunday afternoon with a 71-58 victory over top-seeded UNI.
The Lady Bears (24-9) trailed for only 55 seconds in their seventh straight win, as Tyonna Snow finished with 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to earn tournament MVP honors, and Liza Fruendt scored 16 off the bench for an all-tournament spot. UNI fell to 22-10 after its 10-game winning streak ended.
Missouri State invites fans to join the Lady Bears as they learn their NCAA Tournament destination Monday evening. The Prime Overtime Club in JQH Arena will be open to the public beginning at 5:15 p.m. Monday ahead of the 6 p.m. selection show on ESPN unveiling the 64-team bracket.
Fans are asked to park in Lot 15-A east of JQH Arena, also known as lot SP/J during basketball games, and enter the arena through the main southeast entrance. Soft drinks will be available but the Prime Overtime Club kitchen will not be open.
