Up to 3 inches of snow are possible from southern Missouri through the St. Louis region beginning tonight. Southeast Missouri could get 3-5 inches of snow.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Mike Griffin said a wet, slushy snow is expected with this system.

“Temperatures are going to be slightly near or slightly above freezing during the snowfall. So it’s going to make it a very wet, slushy snow.”

Griffin said snow might be moderate to heavier at times but says temperatures are expected to melt the snow shortly after the system moves through.

Wind advisories have been issued for some parts of Missouri, with gusts expected to be as high as 45 miles per hour from southern and through eastern Missouri.

Griffin expects temperatures in the 50s and 60s later this week.
