A back and forth battle the whole game at Mizzou Arena turned lopsided late in the fourth quarter on Thursday night as Georgia’s outside shooting heated up. The 21st ranked Tigers lost 65-50. The Bulldogs outscored Mizzou 20-7 in the final ten minutes of the game. The Tigers drop to .500 in SEC play. (18-5, 5-5)
Georgia used the deep ball to pull away in the fourth quarter, hitting four three-pointers. A three-pointer from Sophie Cunningham, who led the Tigers with 17 points, tied the game at the end of the third quarter. Jordan Frericks who scored 12 for the game, made three straight baskets to put Mizzou on top until the Bulldogs got hot.
Mizzou shot 35 percent (18-for-51) from the field, 30 percent (6-for-20) from beyond the arc and 67 percent (8-for-12) from the free throw line. Georgia finished at 44 percent (26-for-59) from the floor, 50 percent (7-for-14) from 3-point range and a percent 6-for-6 from the foul line. The Tigers were outscored 24-4 in points off of turnovers and were outrebounded 36-31.
