First-year Mizzou football coach Barry Odom nabbed five players from the state of Missouri as part of National Signing Day.  CB Jared Alton (Kirkwood), OL Trystan Castillo (Webb City), Cale Garrett (Kearney), TE Brendan Scales (Wildwood) and DL Tre Williams (Columbia) all made it official this morning that they will wear the Black and Gold.

When you include players coming from the Kansas City and St. Louis metro areas from Kansas and Illinois, it brings the total to ten “local” kids.

“I’m really pleased with our coaching staff and what they were able to accomplish in a very short amount of time,” said Odom.  To see their energy and relentless as they attacked recruiting, it was a great effort.”

Retaining assistant coaches Cornell Ford and Andy Hill was critical to Odom’s success.  The two combined for 12 of the 20 recruits.
