Mizzou women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton said her 22nd ranked Tigers were all out of sorts in the first half of Sunday’s game at Ole Miss. On her postgame show, she said she had to take a deep breath before addressing her team because she “wasn’t in a good place.”

Instead, cooler heads prevailed.  She calmed her team down and then they got hot, shooting 61% on their way to their 18th win of the season in a 60-46 final over the Rebels.

Sierra Michaelis led the Tigers with 20 points and a season-high eight rebounds. Sophie Cunningham  notched her second career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Michaelis hit four three-pointers in the third and finished with 14 points in that quarter as the Tigers outscored the Rebels 25-15.  In the fourth quarter, Mizzou kept the pressure on, outscoring the Rebels 17-12 and leading throughout.

Mizzou (18-4) will return home Thursday with a 7 p.m. CT tipoff vs. Georgia at Mizzou Arena.
