The Northwest Missouri State University cheerleading team placed fifth at the 2016 World University Cheer competition in the Premier Large Coed division on Sunday afternoon at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports’ HP Pavillion. This followed up a second place finish in the UCA Division II Coed competition on Saturday.
Lindenwood University, 2015 national champions, finished in second place while Northwest took 11th in the finals of the Open Jazz competition on Sunday.  Avila, out of Kansas City, took 13th in Open Jazz
