Halftime update, Chiefs shutting out Houston at the break

January 9, 2016 By Tim Fisher

KCChiefsThe Kansas City Chiefs lead the Houston Texans 13-0 at halftime of the AFC Wild Card Playoff game in Houston.

Knile Davis did not wait long to start the scoring as he took the opening kickoff 106 yards for a touchdown.  That would put the Chiefs on top 7-0 which is how the first quarter would end.

Cairo Santos would add a 49 yard field goal to increase Kansas City’s lead to 10-0 with 12:50 left to go before halftime,  A second Santos field goal from the same distance would cap off a 6 play 31 yard drive to extend the lead to 13-0 at the 7:06 mark of the second quarter.

The Chiefs defense has forced the Texans into 3 first half turnovers, including an interception near the goal line, and have limited Houston to 124 yards of total offense.
