The Ottawa Senators who lost to Chicago 3-0 on Sunday, came into St. Louis with a three game losing streak.  They left with two points after Bobby Ryan scored his 200th career goal in overtime to beat the Blues 3-2.  The Blues blew a 2-0 lead and have now been outscored 6-0 in the final 20 minutes of the last three games.

The Blues had a chance to put the Senators away and they couldn’t do it, leaving a dressing room frustrated.

“We had a chance to bury them and we could have buried them a number of ways,” said coach Ken Hitchcock. “We could have buried them offensively and we could have buried them defensively and we let them off the hook.”

The Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Troy Brouwer (7) in the first and then Kevin Shattenkirk’s power play goal (8) in the second.  The Sens scored late in the second against Brian Elliot to make it a 2-1 game after two periods. That came on a power play goal from Mike Hoffman.  Ottawa tied it in the third with a power play goal from Kyle Turris.
